It all started with a hand built mug in high school art class and published articles in college from then on art and writing have never left my life. From painting, drawing, beading, fiber and sculpture to advertising and radio copy writing, poetry, essays and blogging, I've traveled a long road with my art and writing.
Now I work in my studio primarily in porcelain clay making vases, bowls and cups as well as sculpture and masks. Along the way I’ve worked in window screening and copper making masks and garden art. I do interviews, write essays and blog. I’ve volunteer in my community on non-profit art committees doing public relations and marketing. And I've taught classes and workshops for children and adults in mask making, art and writing.
On this blog, I hope you'll join me as I share my art and writing, my inspirations, my walks with my dog and musings on living a creative life. On the pages here, you'll also find more information on my professional life as an artist including a resume, exhibit list, images of my functional and sculptural work. There's more on my professional website www.susangt.com
And you'll find some of my writing on the web on Voices of Living Creatively, Washington County Open Studios blog, Portland Open Studios blog, Eric Maisel's Creativity Central.
Whether you're interested in art, writing or living a life with passion, I hope you'll find some inspiration here to make your life more joyful and creative.
